I’m really enjoying tattooing at the new shop, and I’m learning a lot. It’s such an honor to get to work alongside people that have been in the business a lot longer than me. There’s always more to learn, but being around artistic minds that have skills to match is no joke.
Chris has been pushing me to fully master basic skills. I like how nothing is ever good enough for him. The constant feedback and support he provides is priceless. I’ve never had a mentor really push me. I can only hope that I make him proud and give back as much as possible.
I’ve been practicing hand drawn script. It’s pretty easy to take printed text and tattoo it as long as you know what you’re doing, but drawn Script is a finer skill, and much more difficult to master. When it’s done right, it’s absolutely badass. I would be lucky if I can get better at it.
I’ve been watching Danny paint flash designs whenever I have the chance. I’ve been wanting to paint my own flash for years, but not knowing where to start really had me procrastinating big time. I’ve painted a few sheets of flash now, but I want to do more! So much more. I’ve always had a soft spot for hand painted tattoo flash, and I’m so happy that being around Danny inspired me to try and paint my own.
I still have a lot to learn, but right now, I’m happier than I have been in a long time. I love working in the shop, I love tattooing, I love drawing, and I love art! Keep bringing me your ideas! I love designing custom tattoos. I’d go crazy trying to come up with something new to draw every day. Your ideas and confidence in my abilities is what keeps me going.
